
Zawada Earns USILA All-America Recognition

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Junior Josh Zawada of the University of Michigan men's lacrosse team was named All-America honorable mention by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association, it was announced Thursday (May 26).
The Raleigh, N.C., native rewrote the U-M record books, setting single-season marks for points (77), goals (43) and assists (34), while becoming the program's all-time points leader (148).
Zawada broke the U-M single-game record twice in as many games to start the season. On Feb. 5, he tallied 10 points (five goals, five assists) against Bellarmine, then followed that with five goals and six assists against Detroit Mercy on Feb. 12. Zawada had another 10-point game on Feb. 22 against Canisius, during which he scored a program-best seven goals.
He accrued seven hat tricks, 13 multi-point games, 12 multi-goal games and nine multi-assist games. He also was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week on three occasions, a Tewaaraton Award Watch List honoree and was part of the Inside Lacrosse Midseason All-America team.
Teammate Nick Rowlett earned the accolade a season ago, while Brent Noseworthy dotted the list in 2018.
