BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- University of Michigan fifth-year senior midfielder Katie Anderson was named a National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I All-American on Tuesday afternoon (Dec. 13). It is the first career All-America citation for Anderson, who was voted to the second team.
Michigan has had an All-American on its roster in 25 of the last 26 years and boasted 32 different All-Americans -- combining for 50 total honors -- in its 50-year program history.
Anderson, the Wolverines' field general, appeared in 95 games over her Michigan career and started all 61 games at midfield over the last three seasons. She boasted 10 career goals and 17 assists, primarily as the stick stopper on U-M's corner attack unit. This season, she tallied two goals and five assists.
A three-time NFHCA All-West Region honoree, earning first-team honors this season after two second-team selections (2020-21, '21), Anderson was named to the All-Big Ten first team this fall and was a two-time selection to the Big Ten All-Tournament Team. She also earned NCAA All-Tournament Team selection in the spring 2021 season after clinching U-M's shootout win against Louisville in the NCAA semifinals.
