
Michigan to Open 2020 Home Slate with Contests vs. Louisville, No. 18 Colorado

» Michigan will open its 2020 home season at U-M Lacrosse Stadium with a pair of contests against Louisville (Feb. 21) and No. 18 Colorado (Feb. 23).
» U-M posted a 9-0 regular-season record last season at U-M Lacrosse Stadium, and was 10-1 overall at home after hosting the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament.
» The Wolverines are 28-28 all-time in Ann Arbor with a 15-4 record at U-M Lacrosse Stadium since it opened prior to the 2018 season.
» Michigan moved to No. 14 in the IWLCA Coaches Poll following its loss at No. 16 USC last weekend.

The No. 14-ranked University of Michigan women's lacrosse team will open the 2020 home campaign on Friday (Feb. 21) when it welcomes Louisville for a 3 p.m. contest at U-M Lacrosse Stadium. The Wolverines will close out the weekend Sunday (Feb. 23) when they host No. 18 Colorado in a noon matchup.
Series History Against Weekend Opponents
• Michigan and Louisville will play Friday for the first time in the history of the two programs.
• U-M and Colorado will meet for the fifth time with the Buffaloes leading, 3-1, in the all-time series against the Wolverines.
• Michigan picked up a key victory against the Buffs a season ago, taking down then-No. 14 Colorado in Boulder.
• The Wolverines and Buffaloes will play for the third time in Ann Arbor, but Sunday's matchup will be the first meeting at U-M Lacrosse Stadium.
Scouting Louisville
• The Cardinals enter Friday's contest with a 2-1 record, earning wins over Cincinnati and Marquette.
• Louisville has outscored its opponents, 38-32, this season and has a .711 shots-on-goal percentage but has kept the draw close, trailing opponents, 39-37.
• Caroline Blalock and Ally Hall lead the Cardinals with nine points each as Blalock has five goals and four assists, and Hall has found the back of the cage nine times.
• Hannah Morris and Allegra Catalano also have chipped in eight points for the offense this season.
• In goal, Rachel Florek has started in all three games with 31 saves and has allowed 32 goals for a .492 save percentage.
Glancing at No. 18 Colorado
• Colorado fell, 11-10, to Florida in its only game this season but will host Harvard on Friday (Feb. 21) before playing the Wolverines this Sunday.
• Colorado put 21 of its 28 shots on frame in its season opener and scored two man-up goals against the Gators.
• Sadie Grozier led Colorado with four goals against Florida, while Zoe Lawless scored three times.
• Liz Philips won five of the Buffs' six draw control as Colorado lost the draw, 17-6, to Florida.
• Julia Lisella earned the start in net, making 13 saves for a .542 save percentage in her first outing of the season.
Michigan at Home
• The Wolverines went 9-0 in the regular season at U-M Lacrosse Stadium in 2019 and 10-1 after hosting the first and second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Kane Steady in Midfield
• Junior Maggie Kane put together complete games in the first two contests of the season.
• Kane scored her first goal of the season to help lift Michigan to a 10-8 victory while picking up a team-best six draw-control wins at Jacksonville.
• Defensivly against the Dolphins, the junior midfielder had two ground ball pickups and two caused turnovers.
• Kane followed up her season-opening performance with a hat trick at No. 16 USC, while also picking up a team-best five draw-control victories and having two caused turnovers.
Garrett, Muir Named to Tewaaraton Award Watch List
• Senior Molly Garrett and junior Caitlin Muir were named to the 2020 Tewaaraton Award Watch List, marking the second straight season for Garrett and the first time for Muir.
• The duo is among 50 women's lacrosse players to be named to the list. The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States.
• This season, Garrett has two goals and one assist for three points while picking up nine draw control wins in two games.
• Muir leads the Wolverines with seven points (three goals, four assists) and has a .800 shots-on-goal percentage, putting four of her five shots on frame.
