CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- University of Michigan men's lacrosse seniors Nick DeCaprio (21st overall) and Brent Noseworthy (30th overall) were selected by the Boston Cannons, and senior Decker Curran (56th overall) was picked by the New York Lizards in the 2019 Major League Lacrosse Draft on Saturday (March 9).
DeCaprio's selection is the highest for a Wolverine in the MLL Draft. He and Noseworthy will join forces with former Wolverine Kyle Jackson (2013-16), who has been a member of the Cannons for the past three seasons.
DeCaprio, picked with the third selection of the third round, arguably has been the Michigan's most indispensable player as a key contributor on the defensive end during his four seasons in Ann Arbor. He ranks second in program history with 47 caused turnovers. He has played in 46 games and has totaled 130 ground balls, ranking third in school history.
Noseworthy was selected by the Cannons with the third pick in the fourth round. Most recently named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List, he became the program's all-time leading scorer (94 goals) against St. John's on March 2, and he is the program leader for points in a season with 48, a number he set in 2018. Noseworthy also has scored at least one point in 32 straight games, the ninth-longest streak in the country.
Curran's name was called by the Lizards as the sixth pick of the sixth round. Ranking in the top five in Wolverine history in goals with 54, he boasts 77 total points and has appeared in 44 games as a Wolverine.
The three Wolverines will join Chase Young (35th overall selection in 2018), Mikie Schlosser (54th, 2017) and Jackson (57th, 2016) as the other Wolverines drafted into the league. Schlosser and former Wolverine Mike Hernandez are current members of the Outlaws. Additionally, Ian King was selected by the Charlotte Hounds in the third round of the 2017 MLL Supplemental Draft.
