CHARLESTON, S.C. -- A trio of University of Michigan men's lacrosse team alums, Mikie Schlosser (2014-17), Mike Hernandez (2013-16) and Chase Young (2015-18) captured the 2018 Major League Lacrosse Championship on Saturday (Aug. 18), as the Denver Outlaws defeated the Dallas Rattlers by a 16-12 score.
Schlosser, who had two goals on three shots in the win, was a revelation in his second season in the league, ranking fifth on the team in goals with 25 and points (36). He was also sixth in the league in shooting off the dodge, according to MoneyBallLacrosse. Schlosser played in all 15 Outlaw contests on the season after playing in only one game a year ago.
Young played in two contests with a pair of assists, while Hernandez played in one contest on the year.
Each member of the trio earns the distinction of being the first Wolverine alums to win a professional championship.
