ROSEMONT, Ill. -- Senior Chase Brown of the University of Michigan men's lacrosse team was named today (Tuesday, April 5) Big Ten co-Defensive Player of the Week for his record-tying performance in a 8-7 loss to No. 5 Maryland on April 2.
The longstick midfielder played a massive role in keeping the Wolverines close with the national power, tying a program record for caused turnovers in a single game with five. On the season, his 15 caused turnovers are tops in the conference and No. 14 nationally. Brown also recorded four ground balls against Maryland, giving him a team-high 30 on the year.
It is Brown's third conference accolade of his career and second this season, as he was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week on Feb. 17.
Now in the thick of Big Ten play, Michigan will travel to the Garden State to take on Rutgers Sunday (April 10) at noon. The contest will be broadcast live via the Big Ten Network.
