
Thomas Selected to Participate in NFHCA Senior Game

CHANDLER, Ariz. -- University of Michigan field hockey senior back Lauren Thomas has been selected to participate in the 2015 Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Division I Senior Game, the organization announced Wednesday (Oct. 28). Thomas was named to the 38-player lineup, which includes seven representatives from the Big Ten Conference
Coinciding with the NCAA Championships, Michigan will host the annual competition on Saturday, Nov. 21, at 2:30 p.m. EST, at Phyllis Ocker Field. Any individual whose team makes the final four will not participate in the all-star contest, which is slated the day between NCAA semifinals and championship game.
Thomas, a three-time NFHCA All-West Region and All-Big Ten second team selection, currently ranks second among the Wolverines' scoring leaders with a career-best eight goals and four assists. As Michigan's center back, Thomas has also contributed to a defensive unit that boasts eight shutouts and a 0.86 goals-against average and has only allowed eight shots per game.
Additional Wolverines could be added as alternate selections.
Thomas and the U-M squad will complete the regular-season portion of the 2015 schedule on Saturday (Oct. 31), hosting Ohio State at 1 p.m. at Ocker Field. Admission is free.
