Michigan Head Coach John Paul
On today's game ... "This is another game -- and this has been our trend this season -- where we play a really good first quarter and for whatever reason kind of unravel after the first quarter is over. Overall, that first half was as good of a half we have played all year. We just weren't finishing offensively and weren't finishing some things defensively. Ultimately you're just seeing one team that is a lot better than the other team. In the second half, they made a lot fewer mistakes than we did."
On what elements of the game can be worked on ... "We know what we need to work on, but we have a pretty big hill to climb to get where we need to be in a lot of those places. One of the reason we played so well in the first half is we had only three turnovers. Three turnovers in a half in a lacrosse game is elite. The second half we had nine (turnovers) and that's going to add up to hurt us. If we have a three-turnover half in the second half it's a better game and we probably stay with them in the third quarter. For us right now it's so many little things. It's finishing offensively. We had three man-up opportunities and two of those we had a dunk opportunity. They worked perfectly for a dunk opportunity and we didn't finish. They get those opportunities and they finish. That's the difference right now. It's just the little thing that puts you over the edge. We're not making those breaks happen and better teams are."
