Gandolph and Ohio State's Stacey Gordon were both unanimous selections to the Big Ten All-Freshman team. Gordon was also named to the All-Big Ten team and earned Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors.
Moore played every game this season and was involved in several memorable moments, including back-to-back blocks and a kill to close out a three-game sweep of then-No. 11 Penn State at Cliff Keen Arena on Oct. 20. She led the team with 354 kills and 3.31 kills per game and was third on the squad with a .276 attack percentage. Moore was second to Gandolph in four categories -- digs per game (2.33), matches leading U-M in kills (8), matches leading U-M in digs (6) and kill-dig double-doubles (10). She was also second in matches leading U-M in blocks with 11.
Moore was named to two all-tournament teams -- the Hawaiian Airlines Classic and Michigan's Pepsi Volleyball Challenge -- and was the Most Valuable Player of the Pepsi Volleyball Challenge.
The conference honors are the first for a U-M volleyball player since Karen Chase (1995-98) earned All-Big Ten honorable mention in 1998, the year before current head coach Mark Rosen took over the program.
"It is a great honor for both athletes," said Rosen. "Like any individual award, I think that these two honors are also representative of the team's success and the efforts of their teammates, who helped them earn the recognition. Both awards are well deserved, and I am very happy for both of them."
The Wolverines finished the season with a 13-14 overall record and a 9-11 mark in the Big Ten. It was the most conference wins by U-M since it posted 13 victories in 1997.
