Gannon, the Wolverines' senior co-captain, tallied both of U-M's game-winning goals this past weekend, in a 2-1 overtime victory over Northwestern (Oct. 6) and an 8-0 shutout of Central Michigan (Oct. 7). Against Northwestern, Gannon scored both of the team's goals, and she put in the first score on way to the rout over the Chippewas.
Gannon leads the Big Ten in scoring and is tied for sixth in the nation with 13 goals and 11 assists for 37 points. Gannon recently became the Maize and Blue's second all-time points leader with 118 for her career. She is 18 shy of tying Mary Callam's (1978-80) all-time record of 136.
The No. 5-ranked Wolverines will be on the road this weekend to battle No. 3 North Carolina (Oct. 13) in Chapel Hill, N.C., and No. 4 Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, N.C.
