Senior midfielder Emily Schmitt (Troy, Mich./Athens HS), who led Michigan with 13 assists and was third on the team with 23 points, was named to the second team, while midfielder Mari Hoff (Canton, Mich./Salem HS) and defender Shannon Poole (Troy, Mich./Troy HS) earned slots on the third team. It was the second such honor for both Hoff (1996) and Poole (1997) as they joined Berendowsky (1997, 1998) as the only Wolverines to earn multiple All-Region honors.
The four All-Region selections are tied with Notre Dame for the most of any school in the region. It also represents the most players the Wolverines have ever placed on an all-region team in one season, bettering the three Michigan placed on the 1997 All-Great Lakes team. Michigan had entered the year with a total of six All-Region citations.
