PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- University of Michigan right-handed pitcher David Lally Jr. signed with the Baltimore Orioles on Monday (July 13) as an undrafted free agent following the completion of the Major League Baseball Draft.
The senior spent two seasons at Michigan after playing his first two seasons at Notre Dame. Lally appeared in 31 games, starting 22 -- including 13 in his junior season. He tallied 145.2 innings pitched, striking out 119 and holding opponents to a .237 batting average. Lally posted a 6-9 record, threw three complete games and earned a save over his two seasons. He finished his Michigan career with a 4.57 earned-run average, posting a 4.15 ERA this year.
The righty earned Big Ten Pitcher of the Week honors after throwing a complete-game, one-hit shutout against Northwestern on April 18, and tossed two seven-inning complete games in 2025. Lally also was an Academic All-District selection in 2025 and an Academic All-Big Ten honoree in 2026.
