
Wolverines to Head to Eastern, Host Central in Midweek Action

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan baseball team (15-14) will play two midweek contests this week, beginning with a rescheduled road game at Eastern Michigan on Monday (April 6) at 3 p.m. at Oestrike Stadium, streaming on ESPN+. The Wolverines will then host Central Michigan on Tuesday (April 7) at 4 p.m. at the Wilpon Complex, home of Ray Fisher Stadium, with coverage on B1G+.
Notes
• Michigan is coming off a ranked series win over No. 15 Oregon, taking the opener and the finale. The Wolverines used a complete-game shutout from Shane Brinham and a 10-run offensive outburst to run-rule the Ducks, 10-0, on Thursday (April 2), but fell 5-2 on Friday (April 3) as Oregon evened the series. In the rubber match, David Lally Jr. held the Ducks to three runs, and Cooper Mullens delivered a two-RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to walk off the game and secure the series win.
• Mullens has started the last five games at designated hitter and has recorded six hits, including four doubles, in those starts. The redshirt sophomore has batted leadoff in each contest and delivered the walk-off hit against No. 15 Oregon on Saturday (April 4), bringing his season RBI total to four. He has also scored seven runs this season, with four coming since entering the starting lineup, and owns a .364 on-base percentage with seven hits and four walks.
• Colby Turner continues to lead the Wolverines in most offensive categories with a slash line of .373/.423/.636. He also leads the team with 10 doubles, seven home runs, 25 runs scored and 28 RBIs. The junior's 75 total bases are 30 more than the next closest Wolverine. Turner has reached base in all but two games this season and has recorded at least one hit in each of the last 10 contests, totaling 10 runs and seven RBIs during that stretch.
• Noah Miller has started the last 10 games behind the plate and has raised his batting average more than 30 points to .294. He has recorded a hit in nine of those 10 games, including three multi-hit performances. Miller posted a two-hit, three-RBI effort in the series opener against Oregon. The redshirt sophomore has scored 10 runs on 20 hits with 14 RBIs and 10 walks this season.
• Brayden Jefferis and Evan Haeger each tallied a team-leading four hits in the series against the Ducks. Jefferis added a run and three RBIs, while Haeger contributed two runs and an RBI. Jefferis is hitting .277 with a .391 on-base percentage, while Haeger owns a .300 average and a .404 on-base percentage.
• Grant Bradley has logged the most innings in two of Michigan's last three midweek games, throwing 3.2 scoreless innings in relief against Michigan State on March 18 before starting against Toledo on March 25. He allowed two runs on four hits over a career-high six innings in that outing. The sophomore has pitched 21.1 innings this season with a 2.53 ERA and 14 strikeouts.
• Eastern Michigan enters with a 10-20 record and is coming off a series sweep by Toledo. The Eagles had previously won six straight games and are 6-2 at Oestrike Stadium. Michigan leads the all-time series 126-65-2, including a 46-30-2 record in Ypsilanti. The teams have split the last four meetings, with the Wolverines winning the most recent matchup, 13-2, at Eastern Michigan.
• Central Michigan holds an 11-16 record and won its weekend series against Western Michigan, taking the opener and finale. The Chippewas are 7-13 on the road this season. Michigan leads the all-time series 49-31-1, which dates back to 1883. The Wolverines have won each of the last three meetings and five of the last six.
