
Wolverines to Return to Sunshine State for Florida Relays

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 4-ranked University of Michigan men's track and field team will return to the Sunshine State to compete at the Florida Relays on Friday and Saturday (April 3-4) at Percy Beard Track in Gainesville. Action on Friday will begin with the 4x100-meter relay preliminaries at 2:45 p.m., and Saturday's action will begin at 12:30 p.m. with the 110-meter hurdles preliminaries.
Notes
• Michigan debuted at No. 4 in the first release of the USTFCCCA Rankings, leading the Great Lakes Region and sitting in third in the Big Ten.
• The 1,500-meter run event squad (Trent McFarland, Brendan Herger, Henry Dixon, and Aiden Sullivan) and the 800-meter event squad (Camden Law, Miles Brown, McFarland, and John O'Reilly) are ranked No. 1 in the NCAA.
• The Wolverines return from a split weekend, sending the distance group to the Raleigh Relays at NC State while the jumpers and throwers went to the Hurricane Collegiate Invitational hosted by Miami.
• In the 800-meter run, U-M grabbed the top four spots, led by Law's meet-record time of 1:46:80. Brown finished second (1:47.16), while McFarland (1:47.25) and John O'Reilly (1:47.70) placed third and fourth, respectively. McFarland and O'Reilly's times come in at No. 8 and No. 9 on the program performers list.
• McFarland won the 1,500-meter run with a personal best of 3:35.80 and the No. 2 mark on the program performers list. Herger (3:36.03) and Dixon (3:38.70) placed second and fourth, respectively, setting the No. 3 and No. 5 times on the program performers list.
• In the 5,000-meter run, Nathan Lopez ran a personal best of 13:42.56 for a 13th-place finish and the No. 6 mark on the program performers list.
• Josh Huisman placed second in the shot put with a season-best mark of 18.87m (61 feet, 11 inches) and Zane Forist placed seventh in the discus with a season-best throw of 53.05m (174-0).
• U-M will remain on the road, heading to Athens, Ga., for the Spec Towns Invitational on Friday and Saturday, April 10-11.
