The University of Michigan men's track and field team concluded its 2026 season earning three Big Ten individual titles, eight Big Ten medals and setting a pair of NCAA Championships records.

Individual Highlights
• The distance medley relay team of Brendan Herger, Miles Brown, Camden Law and Trent McFarland posted a time of 9:14.80 to finish first at the Alex Wilson Invitational to close out the regular season, shaving five seconds off the previous program record for the No. 3 time on the NCAA all-time all-conditions list.
• At the Big Ten Indoor Championships, the Wolverines picked up three gold medals to open the postseason. McFarland (mile run) and Brown (600-meter run) earned individual titles while Herger, Will Barhite, Law and McFarland finished first in the DMR. McFarland earned his second straight mile title while Brown set the collegiate record in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:14.67. Neil Howard made his championships debut in the heptathlon, finishing third with 5,673 points.
• McFarland qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships in the mile run, placing third to earn U-M's first indoor medal since Ayden Owens took bronze in the heptathlon in 2021. The Utica, Mich., native started at the back of the pack before dropping to 10th heading into the final lap. He turned on the burners in the backstretch, running the fastest final lap of the field (26.35 seconds) to finish third. The DMR team of Herger, Brown, Law and McFarland took fourth, and the Wolverines finished tied for 26th with 11 points.
• The middle-distance crew continued to be dominant during the outdoor season, with McFarland (3:33.17) and Herger (3:34.06) breaking Marc Weiser Director of Track and Field/Cross Country Kevin Sullivan's 1,500-meter run program record (3:35.19) from 1997. The times are No. 4 and No. 12 on the NCAA all-time performers list, respectively.
• At the Penn Relays, John O'Reilly, Herger, Law and McFarland set the program and meet record in the 4x800-meter relay for the second straight year. The time of 7:09.24 comes in at No. 2 on the NCAA all-time performers list and is just .30 seconds shy of the collegiate record.
• Quincy Isaac opened the postseason with a bang, finishing second in the long jump at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships with a mark of 7.89 meters (25 feet, 10.75 inches). The mark tied the program record set by DeHart Hubbard in 1925, the program's oldest record.
• The Maize and Blue scored 33 combined points in the 800-meter run and 1,500-meter run, putting six Wolverines on the podium. McFarland, Herger and Riley Flemington went 2-3-7 in the 1,500-meter run while Law, Brown and O'Reilly went 2-4-5 in the 800-meter run.
• Fifteen Wolverines qualified for the NCAA East First Round, with five punching their tickets to the NCAA Outdoor Championships. McFarland continued his record-setting ways, posting a time of 3:38.04 in the 1,500-meter run for the UK Outdoor Track and Field Complex facility record, while Brown broke the 800-meter run program record (1:44.68) set earlier in the season by Law (1:45.86).
• At the NCAA Outdoor Championships, McFarland (1,500-meter run), Herger (1,500-meter run), Brown (800-meter run), Law (800-meter run) and Isaac (long jump) all advanced to the finals of their respective events, with McFarland taking silver and Brown finishing seventh.
