
Michigan to Travel to Penn State for Big Ten Quad Meet

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 9-ranked University of Michigan women's gymnastics team (5-2, 2-2 Big Ten) travels to State College, Pa., for the Big Ten Quad Meet on Saturday (Feb. 28) at 6 p.m. inside Rec Hall. The meet will be broadcast live on Big Ten Network. The Wolverines will compete against host No. 20 Penn State (4-4, 3-3 Nig Ten), Nebraska (4-5, 2-4 Big Ten) and Washington (3-7, 2-5 Big Ten) in the quad meet and will start on uneven bars in the first rotation. Michigan will then move to the balance beam for the second rotation, floor exercise for the third and will finish the meet on vault.
Notes
• Michigan enters week nine of the season as the No. 9-ranked team in the nation and the No. 5 beam team in the country. The Wolverines rank inside the top 15 on all four events, coming in at No. 5 on beam, No. 13 on floor, No. 14 on vault and No. 15 on uneven bars.
• Individually, Jahzara Ranger cracked the top 25 on the beam, ranking 19th after recording back-to-back 9.925s. Junior Kayli Boozer ranks seventh on the beam and Carly Bauman ranks 16th on both beam and floor.
• Michigan swept the event titles against Rutgers last Saturday (Feb. 21). Reyna Guggino won her first vault title of the year, Bauman won the outright uneven bars title and a share of the floor title, while Ranger won the outright beam title and a share of the floor title. Sophia Diaz rounded out the trio of floor winners.
• Junior Ava Jordan stuck her vault landing and scored her first career 9.900 in the first rotation against Rutgers. She bested her previous high of 9.875 as she vaulted fourth for the Wolverines.
• The sophomore class led the Wolverines at UCLA (Feb. 14) with three career-high performances. Parenti scored a 9.950 on the uneven bars with a stuck landing, surpassing her previous best of a 9.900. Sophia Diaz earned a 9.925 on floor, besting her previous high of 9.900, and Jahzara Ranger closed out the night with a 9.925 on the beam, sticking her dismount.
• In week one of the season, Michigan set the program beam record with a 49.650 at the Sprouts Farmers Collegiate Quad. The score broke the previous program best of 49.625 set in the 2023 season. U-M put up back-to-back 9.950s behind collegiate debuts from Walters and Jordan. Boozer recorded Michigan's third 9.950 of the rotation before Bauman anchored with a 9.925.
• Michigan closes out the regular season with back-to-back home meets at Crisler Center starting Friday, March 6, against Clemson. The Wolverines and Tigers meet at 6:45 p.m., and the meet will be streamed live on B1G+.
