Head coach Maile'ana Kanewa-Hermelyn completed her first season at the helm of the Michigan program, finishing the season ranked 13th nationally, four spots higher than 2025, with a National Qualifying Score of 197.111, jumping up from a 196.945 a season ago. U-M completed its best season since 2023, qualifying for the NCAA Regional Final in Baton Rouge, La.



Team Highlights
• The Wolverines finished in the top 15 in all four events, ranking fifth nationally on balance beam, ninth on floor exercise, 13th on vault and 15th on uneven bars.
• U-M led the Northeast Region on vault, balance beam and floor, while ranking second on uneven bars.
• Michigan broke its program beam record with a 49.650, while also posting the fourth-highest beam score in program history with a 49.600.
• The Wolverines' floor score of 49.600 ranks in the top 20 in program history.
• This season, Michigan tied or broke career highs on 40 occasions, while it took home 31 individual event titles, including four straight beam titles from Kayli Boozer and six floor titles from Carly Bauman. U-M finished the season with 70 scores of 9.900 or better.
• Michigan made its 34th consecutive regional appearance in 2026 and made a regional final for the first time since 2023.
• Associate coach Scott Sherman, along with assistant coaches Quest Hayden and Cali Hager, were named the WCGA Northeast Regional Coaches of the Year.




Individual Highlights
• Graduate student Carly Bauman finished her Michigan career on the beam at the NCAA Individual Championships. Bauman was one of seven AAI Award finalists, a regular-season second team All-American on floor and was named the Big Ten Specialist of the Year, ranking third on floor, eighth on the uneven bars and 11th on the beam in the conference, while ranking 11th nationally on floor. The West Des Moines, Iowa, native is just the seventh Michigan gymnast to be named the Regional Gymnast of the Year twice and notched her third first-team All-Big Ten nod and her fourth conference honor. Bauman also earned Big Ten All-Championship Team honors on floor after tying for second with a 9.950. She earned Big Ten Specialist of the Week honors on two occasions this season, bringing her career total to five. Bauman also won 10 individual event titles and posted 18 scores of 9.900 or better in her final season.
• Sophomore Sophia Diaz qualified for the NCAA Individual Championships for the second time in her career, competing on uneven bars and scoring a 9.8625 with a stuck landing in her final routine of the season. The Clarksville, Md., native was a second-team All-Big Ten honoree and the Big Ten Specialist of the Week once in 2026. Diaz earned an event title on vault and floor and had 13 scores of 9.900 or better, including seven straight on floor to close out the season.
• Junior Kayli Boozer earned her first career All-America citation and was a WCGA regular-season second team All-American on beam. Boozer also notched her second career All-Big Ten honor, being named to the second team for the second straight season. The Texarkana, Texas, native competed in the anchor spot on beam all season and also competed in the vault lineup for eight meets. Boozer kicked off the season with six straight beam scores of 9.900 or better and five straight titles. The junior specialist recorded eight scores of 9.900 or better on beam and four 9.950s, which tie for a career high. Boozer also recorded a season-best 9.875 on vault.
• Sophomore Jahzara Ranger earned first team All-Big Ten honors for the first time in her career, competing on three events for Michigan in her second season. The sophomore had a standout season, competing on vault, beam and floor and topping her previous career highs. Ranger scored a career-high 9.950 on floor twice and matched the score on beam, while scoring a career-high 9.925 on the vault in her sophomore season. She won six individual event titles and posted 10 scores of 9.900 or better, while being named the Big Ten Specialist of the Week once.
• Freshman Quincy Walters competed on both beam and floor for the Maize and Blue in her first season. Walters debuted with a 9.950 on the beam in the season opener to win a share of the title, while also scoring a 9.950 on floor against Michigan State for a career-best. The Southlake, Texas, native recorded seven scores of 9.900 or higher, including finishing the 2026 season with four of five floor scores of 9.900 or higher. Walters earned second-team All-Big Ten honors and was also named to the All-Freshman team, along with being U-M's Sportsmanship Award honoree.
• Graduate student Reyna Guggino finished her six-year Wolverine career as a critical member of the vault squad all season. She took home two event titles and earned four scores of 9.900 or better, including a season-best 9.950 against Oklahoma in the final home meet of her career at Crisler Center.
• Senior Lily Clapper competed on the uneven bars in every meet this season with a career-best 9.900 against Clemson, while Peyton Davis competed on three events and earned a career-high 9.900 on vault and floor and a 9.925 on the beam.
• Junior Ava Jordan was crucial for the Wolverines on vault and uneven bars as well as beam, while Sophie Parenti competed on uneven bars, beam and floor for the second straight season. Jordan won a share of the beam title with a career-best 9.950 in the season-opener while earning six scores of 9.900 or better. Parenti won the uneven bars title at UCLA with a career-best 9.950 to earn Big Ten Specialist of the Week honors and had three scores of 9.900 or better in her sophomore campaign.
