
Wolverines to Continue Postseason at NCAA East First Round

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team will head to Jacksonville, Fla., to continue postseason competition at the NCAA East Region First Round hosted by North Florida on Wednesday, May 28, and Friday, May 30, at Visit Jax Track in Hodges Stadium. • Seventeen Wolverines will represent the Maize and Blue in nine individual events. U-M's lineup includes: Miles Brown (800-meter run), Nolan Clark (5,000-meter run), Aiden Felty (shot put), Zane Forist (discus throw), Brendan Herger (1,500-meter run), Josh Huisman (shot put), Caleb Jarema (3,000-meter steeplechase), Camden Law (800-meter run), Nathan Lopez (5,000-meter run), Owen MacKenzie (10,000-meter run), Trent McFarland (1,500-meter run), Jozef Meyers (3,000-meter steeplechase), John O'Reilly (800-meter run), Aiden Sullivan (1,500-meter run), Luke Venhuizen (5,000-meter run and 10,000-meter run), Tianhao Wei (triple jump), Eli Winter (hammer throw).
• Twelve competitors from each individual event and 12 teams from each relay event advance from each first-round site. The 2025 NCAA Division I Track and Field Championships will be held June 11-14 hosted by Oregon at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
• Michigan tied for 11th with UCLA at the 2025 Big Ten Outdoor Championships, scoring 32 points.
• Jarema medaled for the second year in a row in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (8:42.53), earning silver to improve upon his third-place finish at the 2024 Championships.
• Huisman finished fifth in the shot put, throwing for a personal-best 18.88 meters (61-11.5) to come in at No. 5 mark on Michigan's program performers list. Felty also competed in the shot put, finishing 11th with a season-best mark of 18.13m (59-5.75).
• McFarland (3:53.82) and Herger (3:54.21) finished fourth-fifth in the 1,500-meter run, respectively, with McFarland being just 0.64 seconds behind winner Adam Spencer of Wisconsin.
• A pair of Wolverines set personal-best times in the 5,000-meter run to crack the top 10 of the program performers list, with Clark coming in at No. 6 (13:43.57) and Venhuizen coming in at No. 8 (13:48.38).
• The hammer throw will open the meet on Wednesday at 10 a.m. while the discus throw will open the day on Friday at 1 p.m.
