
U-M to Split Between Raleigh Relays, Battle on Bayou

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team will split between two meets this week. On Thursday (March 27), the distance group will head to the Raleigh Relays hosted by NC State, while the rest of the team will compete at the Battle on the Bayou hosted by LSU on Friday and Saturday (March 28-29).
Notes
• Action in Raleigh on Thursday will begin at 5:44 p.m. with the 3,000-meter steeplechase, while action at LSU will start at 12:30 p.m. on Friday and 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
• Michigan opened the outdoor season at the USF Alumni Invitational last weekend, with the 4x400-meter relay team of Jaden Simmons, Jack Juds, Jacob Koerner and Corey Royster finishing sixth (40.12) to post the No. 3 time on the program performers list to lead the effort.
• Amit Rutman (100-meter dash, 10.64 seconds), Miles Brown (400-meter dash, 46.96), and Aiden Sullivan (1,500-meter run, 3:44.54) all set personal bests in their respective events.
• Zane Forist came just short of a pair of new personal bests with a mark of 56.36 meters (184 feet, 11 inches) in the discus throw and a mark of 17.71m (58-1.25) in the hammer throw. In the high jump, Luke Stowasser came just 0.01m shy of his personal best after clearing 2.00m (6-6.75) to finish fifth.
• A trio of long jumpers finished in the top 10. John McNeil finished fourth with a mark of 7.52m (24-8.25), Jake Wall finished fifth with a mark of 7.49m, (24-7) and Tianhao Wei was eighth with a personal best mark of 7.30m (23-11.5).
• The Wolverines went 2-3 in the 800-meter run, with Brendan Herger (1:49.38) finishing second and Camden Law (1:49.39) finishing third. Law's time was a personal best.
• Luke Venhuizen, Owen MacKenzie and Trent McFarland are among those expected to return to the lineup, while William Beardsley is expected to make his outdoor debut for the Maize and Blue.
