
Michigan to Travel to No. 5 Maryland to Open Big Ten Conference Play

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 11-ranked University of Michigan women's lacrosse team (5-2, 0-0 Big Ten) opens Big Ten play on Sunday (March 16) when it travels to No. 5 Maryland (4-1, 0-0 Big Ten) for a 1 p.m. game at the Terrapins' Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex in College Park, Md.
Notes
• The Wolverines rank No. 11 nationally in the IWLCA Coaches Poll and will take on their third ranked opponent this season in No. 5 Maryland.
• Senior Kaylee Dyer became the sixth Michigan women's lacrosse player to score 100 career goals after netting three goals at Colorado to bring her career total to 100. The senior attacker ranks sixth all-time in Michigan annals and is fifth all-time with her 156 career points.
• Senior Erin O'Grady posted back-to-back double-digit save efforts and made a career-best 14 stops at Colorado. She kicked off the trip with 13 saves against Denver to tie a career-best before making 14 stops against the Buffaloes. O'Grady ranks third all-time at Michigan with 262 career saves, and with 38 more this season would become just the third goalie in program history to make 300 career saves.
• Senior Julia Schwabe needs just two points to record her 100th career point and would become the ninth player in program history to record 100 career points and move up to ninth all-time. Schwabe is just four career games away from tying Maddie Burns for most career games played as a Wolverine at 70.
• Senior Maya Rutherford has started 67 career games and is two shy of tying Anna Schueler's record of 69. Rutherford is also three games away from tying Burns' 70 career games played. Rutherford has played in and started every game of her career donning the maize and blue.
• Freshman Emma Burke has proven to be a dominant force on the draw, setting a single-game program record in just her third career outing with 17 draw-control wins. She ranks fifth in the Big Ten with 47 draw-control wins. The freshman ranks 15th nationally in draw controls per game with 8.00 and is the third-ranked freshman nationally on the draw control, and second in the Big Ten.
• A program-record four Wolverines were named to the 2025 Tewaaraton Award Watch List. Smith was named to the list for the third time and O'Grady made the list for the second straight season. Joining Smith and O'Grady are Dyer and Grace Callahan, who make their first career appearances on the list.
• U-M returns to U-M Lacrosse Stadium on Thursday, March 20, when it takes on USC in a Big Ten contest at 6 p.m. The game will be streamed live on B1G+.
