
Wolverines to Travel to Detroit Mercy for Wednesday Tilt

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 6-ranked University of Michigan women's basketball team (5-1) will wrap up a three-game swing away from Crisler Center on Wednesday (Nov. 26), heading to Detroit to face Detroit Mercy (1-3) in its first true road contest of the season. The game is set for 5 p.m. at Calihan Hall and can be seen on ESPN+.

• U-M stayed at No. 6 in this week's Associated Press poll after a 2-1 week that featured wins over Binghamton and Syracuse sandwiched around a three-point loss to No. 1 UConn.
• Michigan's bench scored 42 points in its win over Syracuse, led by a career-best 21 points from Te'Yala Delfosse. U-M is ninth nationally and second in the Big Ten with 36.0 points per game coming from its bench.
• Michigan is wrapping up a three-game swing away from Crisler Center, with this contest at Detroit Mercy making U-M's first true road contest of the season. U-M is 2-1 in neutral-site contests.
• The Wolverines are playing at Calihan Hall for the first time since an 86-50 win on Dec. 4, 2017. U-M played at Calihan twice during the 2017 calendar year, winning the 2017 WNIT championship in a triple-overtime contest against Georgia Tech.
• Michigan scored 120 points against Binghamton (Nov. 18), the second-most points scored in program history and the most under 14th-year head coach Kim Barnes Arico. The Wolverines have topped the century mark twice and are averaging 91.2 points per game on 50.7 percent shooting from the floor. U-M is ninth nationally in scoring offense and 12th in field goal percentage.
• Te'Yala Delfosse made a name for herself at the Basketball Hall of Fame Women's Showcase, setting a host of new career bests across Michigan's games with UConn and Syracuse. Against the Huskies, she played a career-high 26 minutes and grabbed nine rebounds to set a new standard. She recorded the first 20-point game of her career against the Orange, putting up 21 points on 8-for-11 shooting for a new best. She joins her fellow sophomores Syla Swords, Mila Holloway and Olivia Olson as current Wolverines to score at least 20 points in a Michigan uniform. She is averaging 11.5 points per game on 62.5 percent shooting from the floor and is third on the team with 5.5 rebounds per game.
• Swords had a game for the ages in Michigan's near-upset of No. 1 UConn (Nov. 21), going for 29 points and nine rebounds in all 40 minutes of action. She hit eight three-pointers in the game, including three in the final minute to pull Michigan within a point. She became the third Wolverine in program history to make at least eight in a game, joining Katelynn Flaherty and Elissa Brett. She is averaging 14.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists in a team-high 29.6 minutes per game.
• Holloway has elevated her game during her sophomore season, averaging 112.2 points per game on 50.9 percent shooting from the floor. She has handed out 35 assists through four games, good for 5.8 per game to rank sixth in the Big Ten. She has scored in double figures in three games, matching a career high with 21 points in the season opener against Canisius (Nov. 4). She is also grabbing 4.0 rebounds per game, highlighted by tying a career high with seven against No. 18 Notre Dame (Nov. 15).
• Olson has not missed a beat after being named the Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Year by the coaches last season, upping her scoring to 17.8 points per game on 46.8 percent shooting from the floor. She has scored in double figures in all six games this season, highlighted by a 20-point, 6-rebound performance against No. 18 Notre Dame. She is ninth in the Big Ten in scoring as one of 10 players averaging at least 17.0 points per game. She recorded an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double against UConn (Nov. 21), the second of her career.
• Michigan takes a week off after this contest, returning to the court next Wednesday (Dec. 3) to host Central Michigan at 7 p.m.
