
U-M Earns NCAA Tournament Berth, Will Host Notre Dame Thursday

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The No. 16-ranked University of Michigan men's soccer team punched its ticket to the NCAA Tournament, earning an at-large bid to the 48-team field on Monday (Nov. 17). The Wolverines will open the championship against Notre Dame on Thursday (Nov. 20) at U-M Soccer Stadium. First kick is slated for 6 p.m. and tickets can be purchased at mgoblue.com/tickets.
Michigan earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season and 10th time in program history. U-M will enter the NCAA Tournament with a record of 12-3-4, including two wins over ranked opponents and four road wins away from U-M Soccer Stadium.
Thursday will mark the 10th time U-M has hosted a home game in the NCAA Tournament in program history, winning nine of those 10 opening matches.
The 48-team field is made up of automatic qualifiers from 22 conferences and 26 teams selected at-large. The top 16 teams were seeded and have received first-round byes. All first-round games will be played Thursday, Nov. 20, on campus sites, while all second-round action will take place Sunday, Nov. 23. The third round will be played Nov. 29 and 30, while the quarterfinals will be played Dec. 5 and 6.
