
Wolverines to Head to Penn Relays, Host Len Paddock Open

PARKING NOTICE: Due to women's tennis, men's and women's lacrosse and track and field on Saturday, please plan for heavy traffic and limited parking at the South Athletics Complex. Track and field fans are encouraged to park in the commuter lot (Maize Lot) on the south side, while fans for tennis and lacrosse are encouraged to park in the Brown lot.
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team will split the weekend between two meets, heading to Philadelphia for the Penn Relays, Thursday through Saturday (April 25-27) and hosting the Len Paddock Open on Saturday (April 27) at U-M Track and Field Stadium. Senior Day recognition will occur following the conclusion of Saturday's meet.
Notes
• The Maize and Blue will send distance runners to the Penn Relays while the remainder of the squad will stay home for the Len Paddock Open.
• The Wolverines are ranked No. 1 in the Great Lakes Region by the USTFCCA for the fifth straight week. A pair of event squads are ranked in the top-10, with the 800-meter run squad and the 1,500-meter run squad both sitting at No. 7.
• U-M split between two meets last weekend, sending the distance squad to the Wake Forest Invitational and the rest of the team to the Jim Green Invitational at Kentucky.
• In Winston-Salem, N.C., Trent McFarland and Riley Flemington set top-10 program times in the 1,500-meter run. McFarland moved up the list to No. 6 (3:40.93) and Flemington entered the list to No. 10 (3:42.06).
• Jozef Meyers finished in fourth place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a personal best of 8:47.73, nearly 18 seconds better than his previous personal best, while Jack Spamer finished in 18th place (9:00.11).
• At Kentucky, the 4x100-meter relay team of Amit Rutman, Dubem Amene, Jacob Koerner and Dante Bassham finished fourth in a time of 40.86 seconds, U-M's second-fastest time in the event of the season.
