PHILADELPHIA, Pa -- The University of Michigan men's track and field team opened competition at the Penn Relays on Thursday (April 25) at Franklin Field with a trio of Wolverines taking to the track.
In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Caleb Jarema posted a personal best of 8:37.84 to finish fifth. Jarema is the seventh-fastest Wolverine in the event in program history.
Michael Hancock placed 14th in the 1,500-meter run (3:47.85), while Ian Hill saw a personal best finish (14:17.95) in the 5,000-meter run for a 34th-place finish.
U-M will remain in the Quaker State for day two of the Penn Relays on Friday (April 26) at 2:40 p.m., with a distance medley relay team set to compete.
