
U-M to Welcome Oakland for Dual Meet

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 16-ranked University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team (1-0, 1-0 Big Ten) will host the Oakland Golden Grizzlies for its second dual meet of the season on Friday (Nov. 8) at 3 p.m. inside Canham Natatorium. The meet will be streamed live on B1G+.
Notes
• The Wolverines are coming off a dominant performance in their win over the No. 23-ranked Wisconsin Badgers. Michigan bested Wisconsin 261-90, earning U-M its first Big Ten dual-meet win under head coach Matt Bowe.
• Big Ten Swimmer to Watch Gal Groumi enters the second dual of the season with momentum after winning the 100-yard freestyle against Wisconsin with a time of 44.04.
• Tyler Ray continued his strong start to the 2024-25 campaign with a victory in the 200-yard butterfly, clocking a time of 1:45.56.
• Reigning Big Ten Freshman of the Year Colin Geer impressed against the Badgers with a win in the 200-yard IM, posting a time of 1:46.20.
• Freshman Lorne Wigginton had an impressive home debut for the Maize and Blue, winning the 400-yard IM with a time of 3:49.59. Wigginton's mark ranks sixth in the Big Ten.
• Graduate student Bence Szabados holds the fifth-best time in the Big Ten in the 50-yard freestyle at 19.73. Szabados secured his first individual event win of the season with this time against Wisconsin.
• In diving, Cameron Gammage swept the springboard events against Wisconsin, winning the one-meter and three-meter dives with scores of 334.45 and 354.10, respectively.
• Michigan will meet Oakland for the 20th time in program history, with the Wolverines leading the series 19-0. The two schools last faced off during the 2022-23 season, with U-M winning 169-107.
