» Jaeddan Gamilla and Ryan Healy helped Michigan post the top 200 medley relay time before adding individual top finishes in the 100 IM and 200 free, respectively.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team kicked off its 2026-27 home slate on Friday (Sept. 25), welcoming Calvin and Hope to Canham Natatorium for the TEAM BE BETTER; Invitational, an event held in remembrance of the late Ian Miskelley.
The Wolverines opened the non-scoring meet with the top time in the 200-yard medley relay, as Antoine Destang, Jaeddan Gamilla, Henry Gray and Ryan Healy clocked a 1:31.02.
Boldizsar Magda led the 100-yard butterfly (51.02 seconds), Ole Eidam paced the 100-yard backstroke (48.83) and Tyler Tannenberger posted the top time in the 100-yard breaststroke (55.89).
William Savarese paced the 500-yard freestyle (4:32.83), Gamilla led the 100-yard IM (50.55) and Healy posted the top time in the 200-yard freestyle (1:40.87).
On the boards, freshman and Michigan's Big Ten Diver to Watch, Sam McCaffrey led the three-meter competition with 359.90 points, while Julian Cardenas paced the one-meter event with 317.20.
The meet also featured specialty events, including the 50-yard underwater with fins and the 25-yard mystery races. Alex Thiesing and Lorne Wigginton each posted top times during rounds of the mystery shootout.
The Wolverines will return to competition on Friday, Oct. 9, hosting Pittsburgh at 2 p.m. at Canham Natatorium, while the remainder of the team travels to Knoxville, Tenn., for the second round of College Swimming League competition at 5:30 p.m.
