
Michigan Prepares for Home Meet vs. Pittsburgh, CSL Match Four

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 8-ranked University of Michigan men's swimming and diving team (0-0) returns to Canham Natatorium on Friday (Oct. 9) for a 2 p.m. dual meet against Pittsburgh (0-0). The other half of the team will travel to Knoxville, Tenn., for its second College Swimming League match of the season at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The CSL meet will be streamed live on ESPN+.
Notes
• The Wolverines will compete in their second and final CSL match of the regular season, facing No. 12 Louisville, No. 5 Tennessee and No. 10 Virginia.
• Lorne Wigginton continued to make an impact for U-M at CSL Match One, winning the 500-yard freestyle in 4:15.58. He edged Indiana by 0.11 seconds to claim victory.
• Freshman Aiden Moy finished third in the 200-yard butterfly at CSL Match One with a time of 1:44.90. He also placed fourth in the 100-yard butterfly in 47.09 seconds, finishing just behind teammate Colin Geer.
• Antoine Sauve won the 100-yard freestyle at CSL Match One, touching the wall in 42.97 to top a field featuring swimmers from No. 2 Indiana, No. 12 Louisville and No. 13 Ohio State.
• Diver Emmitt Reesor captured the Big Ten three-meter title last season with a score of 398.50, Michigan's first conference title in the event since 1979. At the non-scoring TEAM BE BETTER; Invitational, he posted scores of 347.65 on three-meter and 317.15 on one-meter.
• Freshman Samuel McCaffrey, Michigan's Big Ten Diver to Watch, looks to officially begin his collegiate season after recording scores of 359.90 on three-meter and 315.45 on one-meter at the TEAM BE BETTER; Invitational.
• The Maize and Blue is 7-0 all-time against Pittsburgh. The first meeting between the two programs dates back to the 1925-26 season.
• U-M will return to action on Friday, Nov. 6, for a 4 p.m. dual meet at Oakland in Rochester, Mich.
