ARLINGTON, Texas -- The University of Michigan baseball team rounded out the State Farm College Baseball Showdown with a 6-1 loss to Oklahoma on Sunday night (Feb. 20) at Globe Life Field.

Michigan (1-2) could not break through offensively in a pitchers' duel, scratching for just four hits against five Oklahoma pitchers. U-M hurlers, on the other hand, did not do themselves any favors, walking nine batters and hitting another in the loss. The first three Oklahoma runners who crossed home plate got on board via the walk and three more came home in the eighth on errors.

Oklahoma's Trent Brown staked the Sooners to a 2-0 lead in the second inning when he lined a double to the gap in right to score two runners who got on base via walk.

Michigan got a run back in the fourth when Jimmy Obertop rocketed a single down the line in left field to score Ted Burton.

A hit batter, stolen base and throwing error got Michigan starter Connor O'Halloran (0-1) in trouble in the fifth, and Oklahoma (2-1) capitalized with a sacrifice fly to make it a 3-1 game.

The Sooners threatened again in the sixth, putting a pair of runners on base via a pair of walks before Logan Wood came out of the bullpen and got a timely strikeout to avoid further trouble.

Riley Bertram led Michigan with a pair of hits on the night.

With the College Baseball Showdown in the books, Michigan remains in Arlington for one more day as the Wolverines play a single game at UT Arlington on Monday (Feb. 21) at noon CST at Clay Gould Park.
