
Franklin Named Baseball America Freshman All-American

DURHAM, N.C. -- Freshman Jesse Franklin of the University of Michigan baseball team was named a Baseball America Freshman All-America second team selection, the organization announced Wednesday (July 11). The All-America honor is his fifth this season.
A native of Seattle, Washington, Franklin led the Wolverines with 10 home runs and 47 RBI on the season, which ranked in the top 10 in the Big Ten Conference. Over 47 games played, he posted a .327 batting average and a team-best .588 slugging percentage to go with a .379 on-base percentage. He finished second on the team with 54 hits and totaled 11 doubles and a triple along with a team-leading seven sacrifice flies, as well as four stolen bases.
Franklin also earned All-America selections from Collegiate Baseball News, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), Perfect Game and D1Baseball.com. He wrapped up his freshman season with a unanimous selection to the All-Big Ten Conference freshman team and was a Big Ten Player of the Week award winner as well as a three-time Big Ten Freshman of the Week honoree.Players Mentioned
