The University of Michigan women's lacrosse team (5-10, 1-4 B1G) hosts East Carolina University in its final non-conference game of the season on Saturday at 3 p.m. at U-M Lacrosse Stadium. The game, which follows the men's lacrosse game vs. Johns Hopkins (noon), will serve as Michigan's Senior Day.
WOLVERINE BITES
• Michigan will honor its four seniors prior to Saturday's game. Mae Tarr, Molly Fishter, Sydney Dalmass and Bianca Brueckner will be playing the final home games of their U-M careers.
• Michigan enters play following a 9-8 overtime loss at Rutgers on Thursday (April 12) in a game that saw seven ties and three lead changes. Rutgers scored on the opening possession of overtime, registering a goal with just one second left on the shot clock. The goal overshadowed a brilliant game in net for Alli Kothari, who tied her own single-game record for saves with 15.
Bianca Brueckner led U-M with four goals on as many shots while Lilly Grass logged a career-best three assists, and Caitlin Muir finished the night with two assists.
• Junior Adriana Pendino matched her career high of five points against UDM, finishing with four goals and one assist.
• In three of Michigan's five victories this season, the Wolverines have held their opponents to four goals or fewer -- Butler (W, 12-2), Canisius (W, 14-3) and Central Michigan (W, 12-4). The two goals allowed against Butler rank third in program history for fewest goals allowed in a game. The exception came in U-M's 9-7 victory over Ohio State on March 17.
• Adriana Pendino has scored three goals or more in a game six times this season.
• Bianca Brueckner is the only Wolverine to score in all games played this season, tallying one goal in each of the 14 games in which she has appeared, including a pair of four-goal games (Detroit, Rutgers). She has played in 14 of 15 games this season and has 20 total points, with 24 goals and five assists.
• Freshman Caitlin Muir has started each of the last 12 games after missing the first three games of the season due to injury.
• Molly Garrett continues to lead Michigan in draw controls this season, winning 47.
Scouting ECU:
East Carolina enters play on Saturday at 2-12 overall. The Pirates play on Saturday following a 20-day idle period since dropping a 14-3 decision to Oregon back on April 1. The team will be playing its first road game since March 10. ECU is just 1-5 in road games this season.
Ally Stanton leads the way with 25 points (20 goals, five assists, 25 points) while Nicole Legar (19-2-21) and Megan Pallozzi (16-0-16) follow in goals scored. Emma Bowman leads the team with 10 assists to go along with 13 goals to rank second on the team in total points. Morgan Cheripko had controlled 56 draws in just eight games.
