Olivia Karas (March 23)
Big Ten Sportsmanship Award -- Junior Olivia Karas was honored with the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award at the Big Ten Championships banquet. Karas displayed outstanding sportsmanship by serving as a role model to the gymnastics community with her positive attitude following a season-ending injury midway through the season. One gymnast on each Big Ten team is chosen for the sportsmanship award and then becomes eligible to be chosen for nomination for the Big Ten Outstanding Sportsmanship Award, given to one male and one female student-athlete from each school at the end of the academic year.
Emma McLean (March 12)
Big Ten Event Specialist of the Week -- Junior captain Emma McLean helped honor Michigan's four seniors with a Senior Day win over No. 4 Utah by posting two big scores on vault and floor exercise. McLean tied for the win on floor with a 9.950 for her sixth floor title of the season. She finished second on vault with a team-leading score of 9.900 to give her 26 career routines of 9.900 or better. This is McLean's second Big Ten weekly honor of 2018 and fifth of her career. » Big Ten Release
Brianna Brown (Feb. 23)
AAI Award Nominee -- Senior Brianna Brown was named one of 14 nominees for the AAI Award. The preliminary ballot will be narrowed down to six finalists later this season. The AAI Award is given annually to the nation's top senior women's collegiate gymnast.
Paige Zaziski (Jan. 16)
Big Ten Gymnast of the Week -- Senior captain Paige Zaziski overcame a flat tire on the way to the meet to win the all-around with a 39.450 against Ohio State. She tied for the win on bars with a 9.900 and scored 9.825 or better on each of her other three events as Michigan topped Ohio State in its Big Ten opener with the nation's highest score (197.500). Emma McLean (Jan. 16)
Big Ten Event Specialist of the Week -- Junior captain Emma McLean was lights out on vault and floor in the win over Ohio State. She had a career-high 9.975 on floor and also won vault with a 9.950. She now ranks tied for second nationally on vault and tied for fourth on floor. The award is her fourth career event specialist of the week honor. » Big Ten Release
Syd Townsend (Jan. 16)
Big Ten Freshman of the Week -- Freshman Syd Townsend earned her first career Big Ten honor with a 9.925 on vault and a 9.900 on bars. Her bars score tied for the lead to give her the first event title of her young career. » Big Ten Release
Olivia Karas (Jan. 8)
Big Ten Gymnast of the Week -- Junior Olivia Karas was named the first Big Ten Gymnast of the Week in 2018 after leading Michigan to a season-opening win over No. 4 Alabama. Karas won the all-around (39.350) and floor exercise (9.925) to post the top all-around score in the Big Ten. It is her sixth career gymnast of the week honor. » Big Ten Release
Brianna Brown (Jan. 8)
Big Ten Event Specialist of the Week -- Senior Brianna Brown was tabbed Big Ten Event Specialist of the Week for the first time in her career, giving her six career Big Ten weekly honors. She led Michigan with a 9.900 on bars to help the Wolverines overcome No. 4 Alabama in the season opener. She also scored a 9.850 on beam and 9.800 on floor. » Big Ten Release
