» Michigan enters the final week of the regular season with a 7-8-1 overall record (3-5-1 Big Ten) under the direction of first-year head coach Jennifer Klein.
» The Wolverines will host Maryland on Thursday (Oct. 18) at 7 p.m. before closing out the weekend with Senior Day on Sunday (Oct. 21) against Michigan State at 2 p.m. at U-M Soccer Stadium.

The University of Michigan women's soccer team welcomes Maryland and Michigan State for the final weekend of the 2018 regular season. The Wolverines and Terrapins meet on the pitch Thursday (Oct. 18) at 7 p.m. at U-M Soccer Stadium before U-M takes on the Spartans on Senior Day, Sunday (Oct. 21) at 2 p.m. Both matches will be featured on BTN Plus (with a paid subscription).
Senior Profiles
The Wolverines will honor the careers of their six seniors prior to Sunday's (Oct. 21) match against Michigan State. Below are brief profiles of accomplishments on and off the field during in their tenures at Michigan.
• Abby Kastroll: Played in 65 career matches (55 starts) for the Wolverines and has tallied 38 points (13 goals, 12 assists). Kastroll is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and a two-time U-M Athletic Academic Achievement recipient as well as earning Rookie of the Year honors. She will graduate this spring with a degree in business administration.
• Reilly Martin: Appeared in 73 matches (59 starts) for the Maize and Blue, pacing the team in both her sophomore and junior seasons with 24 and 17 points, respectively. She has netted 21 career goals and notched 24 assists to earn 66 career points. For her efforts on the field she was named All-Big Ten second and third team, Big Ten All-Freshman team and Michigan Co-Offensive MVP. Additionally, she has is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, a U-M Athletic Academic Achievement Award recipient and a CoSIDA Academic All-District Five Team member. She will graduate in spring 2019 with a degree in psychology and a minor in nutrition with a focus on food in the environment.
• Katie Foug: Played in 43 matches (15 starts) in her three-year career with the Wolverines after walking on to the team in her sophomore season. She tallied three assists as a junior and two assists in her final season for five career points. She was named to the Academic All-Big Ten team in 2017 season and earned the U-M Athletic Academic Achievement award in 2016. She will graduate with a degree in neuroscience this spring.
• Jackie White: Has seen action in 33 matches (15 starts) for the Wolverines. She scored one goal and tallied two assists while putting seven shots on goal for a .583 shots-on-goal percentage. The Livonia, Michigan, native is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and a two-time U-M Athletic Academic Achievement recipient, while also earning Most Improved Player in 2016. This past summer she worked at Rothschild and Co. in New York and has accepted a full-time job following her graduation in spring 2019 with a degree in business administration.
• Ashley Calcagno: Appeared in 21 matches, starting 14 in her senior campaign. In her final season with the Wolverines, she scored her first career goal. She is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and a U-M Athletic Academic Achievement recipient. The Vero Beach, Florida, native interned with the US House of Representative over the summer and will graduate in spring 2019 with a degree in political science and a minor in business administration.
• Taylor Timko: Played in 69 matches (63 starts) in her four-year Michigan career. She has netted 15 career goals with eight assists to bring her total to 38 career points. As a freshman, she started all 20 matches and had 10 points, earning Big Ten All-Freshman team honors as well as Michigan Women's Soccer Rookie of the Year and Michigan Athletics' Female Rookie of the Year honors. After sitting out her junior season due to injury, she returned to the pitch in 2017 to start all 18 matches and finished third on the team with 10 points. She is an All-Big Ten second team honoree as a defender and earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors one time. Off the pitch, she is a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District Five first team honoree, a two time Academic All-Big Ten recipient and a three-time U-M Athletic Academic Achievement winner. She will graduate in the spring of 2019 with a degree in biology.
Series History with Maryland
Michigan holds a 3-0 advantage over Maryland in the brief all-time series. The teams have not met since Michigan's 3-1 home win on Oct. 2, 2016, when Jackie White, Emma Groffsky and Reilly Martin all scored goals for the Wolverines. Maryland was outshot, 26-4, in that contest but it was the Wolverines who came out on top.
Scouting the Terrapins
The Terrapins are 4-8-5 overall (2-5-2 Big Ten) on the season, scoring just 15 goals and giving up 19. As a team, Maryland averages 10.8 shots per match and has a .359 shots-on-goal percentage. Offensively, Jerena Harmon is the one Terrapin with a double-digit point total, tallying 13 (six goals, one assist), while Darby Moore and Hope Lewandoski have five points each. In goal, Rachel Egyed has started 14 matches with a 1.06 goals-against average and a .826 save percentage. Egyed has made 76 saves, which ranks second in the conference.
Series History with Michigan State
The Wolverines is 12-7-7 in the all-time series against in-state rival Michigan State. In their last meeting in East Lansing, the Spartans pulled out a 2-1 win, holding the Wolverines scoreless after a fifth minute goal by Reilly Martin. Michigan is 4-2 in the last six matchups and has won all but one home match, holding a 7-1-3 advantage in contests at U-M Soccer Stadium.
Scouting the Spartans
Michigan State is 5-7-3 overall and seeks its first Big Ten win as it holds an 0-6-2 conference record. The Spartans have lost their last five matches, all in one-goal games and have not won since Sept. 6 against Oakland. Camryn Evans leads the way offensively with 14 points, all of which have been goals, while Sadie Misiewicz has scored four times and Danielle Stephen has had four assists. In goal, Reilly Ott has started all 15 matches carrying a 1.01 goals-against average and a .824 save percentage after making 75 saves on the season.
Michigan's Leaders
Sophomores Nicki Hernandez and Sarah Stratigakis have not hit a sophomore slump. Hernandez is tied for third in the Big Ten Conference with 20 points, while her six assists tie for second in the conference and her seven goals tie for third in the league. Hernandez also has scored all seven of her goals at home this season and netted three game winners. Stratigakis also has found her share of success in the 2018 campaign, ranking third in the team with 13 points (six goals, one assist) and starting all 16 matches. Senior Reilly Martin has closed out her final season at Michigan strong as well, ranking second on the team with 16 points (six goals, four assists) with one game-winner.

Michigan will await its fate for the Big Ten Tournament following this weekend's regular-season ending action. The Wolverines sit in 10th overall in the conference and need to finish in the top eight to make a run for the Big Ten Tournament championship.
