DAVIS, Calif. -- The University of Michigan baseball team's doubleheader at UC Davis on Friday afternoon (March 4) was halted in the top of the third inning and postponed due to inclement weather in the area. Play will resume on Saturday (March 5).
After a scoreless first and top half of the second inning, rain began to fall at Dobbins Stadium with one out in the bottom of the second. Despite the light rain, Michigan junior lefty pitcher Brett Adcock retired the next two hitters consecutively to bring the Wolverines back to the dugout.
Rain began to fall harder in the top of the third, and with one Michigan out and no runners on, the game was delayed with a 0-0 score.
After close to an hour in a rain delay, field conditions forced the game to be postponed until Saturday (March 5). The doubleheader will resume at 12 p.m. PST at Dobbins Stadium in Davis, Calif. Following the completion of game one, the teams will meet for a game two seven-inning affair.
