The University of Michigan men's soccer team (2-9-4, 1-5-1 B1G) closes out its 2016 regular season this week, hosting the Oakland Grizzlies (5-8) Tuesday (Oct. 25) at 7:30 p.m., followed by a tilt with the 2016 Big Ten regular-season champion -- the No. 1 Maryland Terrapins (13-0-2, 6-0-1 B1G) -- on Senior Day Sunday (Oct.30) at 1 p.m. from U-M Soccer Stadium.

WOLVERINE BITES
• The Wolverines rank No. 2 in the Big Ten and No. 12 in the NCAA with 15.60 shots per contest. Sophomore Francis Atuahene leads the conference in shots per game and ranks No. 4 nationally (4.62/match), while freshman Jack Hallahan is No. 7 in the conference with 2.57 a match. Additionally, Atuahene leads the league in shots on goal and is No. 12 in the NCAA in the category with 1.92 a match.
• Michigan has outshot teams 234-216 on the campaign and owns an 83-81 margin in shots on goal. The Wolverines have won the category in all but three matches (Aug. 29 at FGCU, Oct. 7 at Rutgers and Oct. 15 at William & Mary). Additionally, U-M has outshot opponents 137-127 in the second half and overtime combined but has been outscored 14-7 in that span.
• On Sunday, the Wolverines will honor seven members of its 2016 senior class in redshirt junior Tyler Anderson and seniors Lars Eckenrode, Brett Nason, Grant Mattia, Andre Morris, Yamann Sahlool and Rylee Woods.
• Michigan has already locked up the No. 8 seed in the upcoming Big Ten Tournament and will take on No. 9 Rutgers in the first round of the tournament on Saturday (Nov. 5) at 1 p.m. in College Park, Maryland. If the Wolverines win, U-M will take on the No. 1 seed Terps Sunday (Nov. 6) at 1 p.m.
OPPONENT PREVIEW
OAKLAND -- The Grizzlies will enter the Tuesday tilt with a 5-8 overall mark on the season, and are coming off a 2-0 loss against Belmont on Oct. 22. Overall, the Grizzlies have been outscored 19-12 on the season, boasting the nation's 164th offense at .92 goals per match. OU is 0-4 this season against Big Ten opponents and has been outscored 10-1 in four defeats -- vs. Ohio State, Michigan State, Indiana and Penn State.
Chase Jabbori leads the offense with five goals, three of which have been game-winners. Austin Ricci is tied for second on the team in assists with three and leads the conference and ranks No. 13 nationally in shots per contest 4.23/game.
Two goalkeepers have split time in Zach Walker and Liam McQueenie. The pair has combined to allow 19 goals, as well as a 1.45 goals-against average and 48 saves.
MARYLAND -- The No. 1 Terps, who host the Delaware Blue Hens on Tuesday (Oct. 25) before traveling to Ann Arbor, rank in the top five in in the NCAA in scoring offense (2.40 goals/match) as well as in total assists (40), total goals (36) and total points (112).
The offense is led by Gordon Wild with 11 on the season, a number that ranks No. 6 in the NCAA, and Amar Sejdic, who leads the team in assists and ranks No. 7 nationally in the category with eight. Goalkeeper Cody Niedermeier owns the No. 2 goals-against average in the Big Ten at .069 and has stopped 79 percent of shots he has faced to lead one of the nation's top defensive units.
The Terps have already locked up the regular-season B1G title and will host the first and second round of the tournament.
