Michigan lost its first conference series since being swept March 20-22 at Nebraska. The Wolverines are 12-9 in the Big Ten this season, winning five straight conference series.
Sophomore Carmen Benedetti has reached base safely in his last 21 games, tying Cody Bruder for the second-longest such streak this season. Jake Bivens had the longest streak on the team, reaching base in 25 straight games earlier this season.
Today's game was dominated by pitching and defense, with neither team managing an extra-base hit.
Michigan falls to 9-3 when allowing two or fewer runs.
Sophomore Brett Adcock finished allowed just two runs over 5.1 innings pitched, marking his sixth consecutive start and 10th start this season with three or fewer earned runs.
The Wolverines turned three double plays today for the fourth time this season.
