Michigan won its first two games of the Big Ten Tournament for the first time since the 2008 season. The Wolverines won that tournament that was hosted in Ann Arbor.
U-M is now 47-34 all-time in the Big Ten Tournament.
Michigan is now 7-2 all-time against Iowa in Big Ten Tournament play.
The Wolverines now have three home runs in the Big Ten Tournament after Cody Bruder and Kendall Patrick had solo shots in today's win over Iowa. Johnny Slater had a home run in the tournament opener against Indiana.
Bruder now has a 17-game reached-base streak after his two hits in the win over Iowa.
Junior Jacob Cronenworth now has three saves in Big Ten Tournament play after picking up his sixth save of the season in the win over Iowa. Cronenworth also has 25 career saves, which are seven behind Michigan's all-time saves leader, Todd Marion (1990-93), who earned 32.
Michigan did not walk a batter for the second time this season. The Wolverines did not walk a batter in a win over Siena on March 1.
Freshman Ryan Nutof picked up his fifth win of the season in his first Big Ten Tournament outing. Nutof now has four wins against Big Ten opponents.
