U-M leads the all-time series with Oakland, 28-3.
Michigan improves to 10-2 at home and 12-5 when leading after the first.
Michigan sent 11 batters to the plate in the first inning today, scoring six runs on three hits and two Oakland errors. First innings have been very important to the Wolverines this season, as they have scored 42 of their 248 runs (16.9%) in the opening frame.
Freshman Jake Bivens extended his reached-base streak to 25 games with his third-inning walk. The streak is the longest such streak this season.
Junior Jacob Cronenworth picked up three hits this afternoon, his third multi-hit game in his last four. Cronenworth is tied for the team lead in multi-hit games at 18 with Jackson Glines.
Sophomore Johnny Slater finished 2-for-4 today, adding to a hot April for him. He has hit .325 (13-for-40) on the month with seven runs and 11 RBI.
