
McAtee Garners CoSIDA Academic All-District Recognition

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Fifth-year senior midfielder Colin McAtee of the University of Michigan men's soccer team has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District Five first team, the College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA) announced on Thursday (Oct. 29). McAtee will now advance to the Academic All-America team ballot; first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be announced Tuesday, Nov. 24.
To be eligible, nominated student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with a minimum 3.30 cumulative grade-point average in at least his second year at the current institution and must have played in at least 50 percent of the team's games.
A 2015 co-captain and three-year starter, McAtee sits second on the team in goals this season with five. He has played in 64 matches with 46 starts in his U-M career. McAtee was an All-Big Ten first team selection and team MVP in 2014, when he led the Wolverines with eight goals and was named College Soccer News National Player of the Week along the way.
The San Diego, California, native has been named Academic All-Big Ten on three occasions. He will graduate from U-M in December with a double major in Spanish and economics.
McAtee and the rest of the Wolverines will wrap up their regular-season home slate with Senior Day and the highly anticipated Battle for Big Bear vs. Michigan State Saturday (Oct. 31) at 5 p.m. at U-M Soccer Stadium.
