Saturday's win over Penn State is the eighth straight win for the Wolverines, the best streak since a nine-gamer in 2010.
Freshman SS Travis Maezes, who is hitting .295 (38-for-129), was 3-for-4 with three singles and his 10th stolen base of the season for his ninth multi-hit game of the season.
Maezes, who is hitting .424 (14-for-33) in Big Ten play, shares the team lead with three three-hit games.
Freshman LHP Evan Hill (6-1, 1.89 ERA) pitched 5.1 innings, allowing five hits and two runs and collecting his sixth win of the season. Hill, who fanned two but walked five, left the game with a 3-2 lead in the sixth inning and the score remained the same.
Hill had two strikeouts to push his total to 32 in a team-leading total of 57 innings pitched in his nine starts.
Hill is 3-0 with a 1.33 ERA in conference-only action with wins over Minnesota, Michigan State and Penn State.
Junior catcher Cole Martin, who is hitting .206 (21-for-102), was 1-for-4 with a run-scoring single in the second inning to give the Wolverines a 1-0 lead. The hit provided the game-winning RBI, his second of the season and career.
Sophomore LF Zach Zott, who is hitting .325 (27-for-83), was 1-for-3 with a run-scoring double. Zott, who is hitting .414 (12-for-29) in Big Ten play, has hits in 13 of his last 14 games.
Freshman 2B/RHP Jacob Cronenworth, who is hitting .331 (40-for-121), was 1-for-3 with a double, a HBP and he scored the winning run.
Cronenworth, who leads the team with 23 RBI, has hits in 17 of his last 18 games, and he has reached base in 18 consecutive games.
Cronenworth (0-1, 1.06 ERA, six saves) worked a scoreless ninth inning with a HBP and one strikeout to record his team-leading sixth save of the year.
Cronenworth has 16 strikeouts in his 17 innings of work in 12 appearances in relief this season.
Cronenworth's sixth save pulls him into a five-way tie for ninth place on Michigan's single-season save list. John Arvai (7 saves, 1996) and Tim Karazim (7 saves, 1983) are tied for seventh place on the U-M single-season saves list. Bobby Korecky (7 saves, 1999-2002) and Ken Hayward (7 saves, 1982-85) are tied for 13th on U-M's career saves list.
Junior OF Michael O'Neill, who is hitting .355 (50-for-141), was 1-for-4 with his team-leading 13th double of the season. The double is the 33rd of his career as a Wolverine, and it was his 170th career hit.
O'Neill has hits in 27 of the 33 games this season and in 31 of his last 37 games in the past two seasons.
Freshman 1B Jack Sexton, who is hitting .223 (21-for-94), was 1-for-2 with a run-scoring double and a walk. He has two doubles this season.
