Senior/junior 1B Kevin Krantz, who is hitting .056 (1-for-18), snapped an 0-for-16 slump with a pinch-hit RBI single in the sixth inning. The single snapped a 3-3 tie and proved to be the game-winning RBI, the first of the season for Krantz and the fourth of his Wolverine career.
Freshman LHP Trent Szkutnik (2-1, 4.32 ERA, one save) pitched five innings, allowing nine hits and three runs, two earned in recording the win as U-M's starting pitcher.
Szkutnik, who has recorded his two wins in his two starting assignments, had two strikeouts at MSU, giving him 22 strikeouts in 25 innings in his 10 appearances this season.
Sophomore RHP Alex Lakatos (0-2, 2.36 ERA, two saves) pitched four scoreless innings out of the bullpen, recording two strikeouts as he earned his second save of the season.
Lakatos, who has 17 strikeouts in 26.2 innings in his 10 appearances this season, has four career saves as a Wolverine.
Freshman OF/DH Zach Zott, who is hitting .206 (7-for-34), was 2-for-3 with two singles and a walk. Zott has two multi-hit games in seven starts as a Wolverine and made his third start in RF.
Freshman SS Dylan Delaney, who is hitting .200 (20-for-100), was 2-for-5 with two singles and two RBI. Delaney, making only his third start as the number two man in U-M's lineup, has four multi-hit games this season.
Freshman LF Will Drake, who is hitting .331 (41-for-124), was 2-for-5 with two stolen bases as he extended his current hitting streak to five games.
Drake, who is third on the team with 10 stolen bases, ranks second on the team with 12 multi-hit games.
Junior/sophomore 2B/3B John DiLaura, who is hitting .328 (20-for-61), was 2-for-3 with a walk and a double for his seventh multi-hit game of the season and the 11th of his U-M career.
