FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The ninth-ranked University of Michigan men's soccer team was unable to upend top-ranked Louisville Saturday night (Aug. 20), falling, 2-0, in an exhibition game played in Fort Wayne, Ind. The Wolverines managed two shots in the contest, with the Cardinals collecting 13 shots, including a pair of second-half goals.

After a scoreless first half, Louisville's Chase Rodgers scored in the 58th minute on a header from a corner kick. The Cardinals tacked on a second tally in the 79th minute, when Nick DeLeon dribbled down the left side and scored from 20 yards out.
Freshmen forward Tyler Arnone (Hicksville, N.Y./Hicksville HS) had the best scoring chance for Michigan, but his shot in the 73rd minute was deflected wide for a corner.
Six of the 13 shots for Louisville were on goal, with most of those shots coming in the second half.
Michigan will open the regular season on Friday evening (Aug. 26) at Bowling Green. The game is slated to begin at 6 p.m.
