Sophomore CF Patrick Biondi, who is hitting .305 (40-for-131) to lead the team, was 1-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and a stolen base. He is hitting .478 (11-for-23) with seven stolen bases during his current six-game hitting streak.
Biondi led off the first inning with a walk and he stole second base and scored on a two-out double by Coley Crank. Biondi has scored in the first inning as U-M's leadoff batter seven times this season, five times in seven Big Ten games, and 28 times in his U-M career.
Biondi, who leads the team with 18 stolen bases, ranks sixth on U-M's career stolen base with 47, leaving him five behind Rodney Goble (52, 1992-95) for fifth place on U-M's career steals list.
Junior catcher/DH Coley Crank, who is hitting .254 (29-for-114), was 1-for-4 with a run-scoring double. Crank has a five-game hitting streak with hits in 12 of his last 13 games. Crank leads the team with three home runs and 12 doubles this season.
Crank has 15 extra-base hits (12 doubles and three homers) among his 29 hits this year. Crank has 31 career doubles.
Crank shares the team lead at 15 runs batted in with Michael O'Neill this season and Crank has 90 career RBI.
Freshman RHP/DH Alex Lakatos, who is hitting .308 (20-for-65), was 1-for-3. Lakatos has hits in eight of his last 10 games.
Freshman RF Michael O'Neill, who is hitting .302 (38-for-126), was 1-for-4. O'Neill has hits in 27 of his 32 games this season. O'Neill shares the team lead with 15 RBI and he is second with 38 hits and 16 stolen bases.
Freshman catcher Cole Martin entered as a defensive replacement in the seventh inning and he was 1-for-2 with a single and a run scored as he matched his season best with a two-game hitting streak.
