ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan head baseball coach Rich Maloney has announced plans for the third Baseball Alumni Weekend of his tenure for Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 2-3, featuring a Saturday golf outing and a brunch and baseball action on Sunday. The events of the weekend are open to baseball alumni, friends and members of the public.
"Our goal continues to be able to bring back as many former Wolverine baseball players as we can from all eras. This is our third reunion weekend since I've been here, and it is great to get the former players back on campus," said Maloney.
The golf activities include registration at the University of Michigan Golf Course at 10:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. There will be lunch at the turn of the 18-hole event and dinner in the clubhouse starting at 4 p.m. The $125 cost covers cart, 18 holes of golf, lunch, dinner and prizes that could be won during the day. Dinner only guests will be charged $30.
Sunday activities open with a brunch ($12) at the Four Points Sheraton in Ann Arbor (3200 Boardwalk, 734-996-0600) at 8:30 a.m. The baseball activities at legendary Ray Fisher Stadium will feature a home run hitting contest at 10:30 a.m. followed by an alumni game with the format depending upon the number of alumni players available.
