ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan Athletic Director Bill Martin announced today (Tuesday, May 21) that interim head baseball coach Chris Harrison was informed that he will not be retained.
"We appreciate the hard work and effort by Chris and his staff during the 2001-02 school year," said Martin. "I told Chris and his staff we need to make a change and we're going to do so."

Harrison served as an assistant coach for six seasons before being named interim head coach in September 2001 when former coach Geoff Zahn resigned.
Harrison's Wolverines won four of their last five games to close out the 2002 season with a 21-32 overall record and 14-17 Big Ten mark. Michigan, which led the Big Ten in pitching, took three of four from Purdue in the last conference weekend series and just fell short of a playoff bid on the last day of the season.
