DeKALB, Ill. -- The final three games of the University of Michigan's four-game Big Ten Conference baseball series with Iowa have been cancelled due to severe cold weather. The teams were scheduled to play a doubleheader Saturday (March 24) and a single game Sunday (March 25) at Northern Illinois University's Ralph McKinzie Stadium.
The Wolverines (8-8, 1-0 Big Ten) defeated Iowa 4-3 on Friday (March 23) in the only game of the series that was played. The weekend series with the Hawkeyes slated to be played in Iowa City was switched to DeKalb, Ill., because Iowa's field, hit by six inches of snow last weekend, was not playable.
Michigan's next scheduled game is against Bowling Green on Tuesday (March 27, 3 p.m.) at Bowling Green, Ohio.
