U-M Alumni Twinbill Scheduled During Homecoming

Bobby Scales, MVP of the 1999 Big Ten playoff championship team, is scheduled to play for the alumni squad along with Derek Besco, top hitter on the 1997 Big Ten championship team. J.J. Putz (1996-99), who won three postseason games in 1999, and most valuable pitchers John Arvai (1996) and Brian Berryman (1998) are also slated to play.
Other former Wolverines expected to be on hand include: Bill Mogk (1951-53), captain of coach Ray Fisher's 1953 national championship team; former Major Leaguer Leon Roberts (1970-72), who led Michigan in hitting (.367) in 1972; Ken Hayward (1982-85), a career .376 hitter who held the Michigan career hits record (267) from 1985-99; Mark Clinton (1978-81), the winning pitcher in the 11-inning, 9-6 win over California in the 1980 College World Series; 1983 Big Ten batting champ Fred Erdmann (1980-93); and WTKA radio color analyst Ryan Kelley (1996-99), a former Wolverine pitcher who is slated to be the alumni catcher.
