COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The University of Michigan women's golf team closed its regular season with a sixth-place finish Monday (April 6) at the Terps Invitational, posting a 54-hole total of 892 (300-290-302) against a strong 16-team field at the University of Maryland Golf Course.
The Wolverines showed resilience throughout the week, bouncing back from an opening-round 300 with a sharp 290 in round two to climb into third after 36 holes at 590. Michigan entered the final round firmly in contention before posting a 302 and finishing sixth overall.
Senior Mara Janess led the Maize and Blue, tying for 18th at 222 (75-70-77). After opening with a 75, she surged with seven second-round birdies to fire a 70 (-2) and move into the top five. Despite a closing 77, she secured a top-20 finish.
In her return to the starting lineup, senior Sydney Sung followed, tying for 29th at 223 (71-76-76). Freshman Reese Ng (79-72-75) and senior Lauren Sung (76-75-75) each tied for 34th at 226, while freshman Jaymie Ng rounded out the lineup with a tie for 39th at 227.
Michigan now returns to Ann Arbor to wrap up finals and continue preparations before heading west for the 2026 Big Ten Championships, scheduled for April 24-26, at Oakmont Country Club in Glendale, Calif.
