
Wolverines to Split Between Wake Forest Invitational, Big Red Classic

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 13-ranked University of Michigan men's track and field team will split between the Wake Forest Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C., on Thursday and Friday (April 16-17) at Kentner Stadium and the Big Red Classic in Lincoln, Neb., on Friday and Saturday (April 17-18) at Nebraska Outdoor Track.
Notes
• The Wolverines come in at No. 13 in the latest USTFCCCA rankings, placing them No. 7 in the Big Ten and No. 1 in the Great Lakes Region.
• The 800-meter run event squad (Camden Law, Miles Brown, Trent McFarland and John O'Reilly) and the 1,500-meter run squad (McFarland, Brendan Herger, Henry Dixon, Aiden Sullivan) both remain No. 1 in the NCAA for the third straight week.
• U-M is coming off a road trip to Athens, Ga., for the Spec Towns Invitational on April 9-11.
• Jake Machiniak ran a personal best of 20.76 seconds in the 200-meter for fifth place and the No. 3 mark on the program performers list.
• In the long jump, Quincy Isaac jumped a personal best of 7.68 meters (25 feet, 2.5 inches) for third place and the No. 8 mark on the program performers list. Isaac was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Wednesday (April 15) for his performance.
• Brown ran a personal-best 46.70 for fifth in the 400-meter dash, while O'Reilly ran a personal best of 46.89 for sixth.
• Tyler Baker earned personal bests in the shot put (12.06m/39-6.75) and 110-meter hurdles (15.19) during the decathlon.
• Malachi Mosley (200-meter dash, 21.64), Cole Sheldon (pole vault, 5.08m), Josh Huisman (hammer throw, 55.82m), Riley Flemington (800-meter, 1:49.17) and Caleb Root (400-meter hurdles, 52.92) all saw personal bests in their respective events.
• Michigan will head to the City of Brotherly Love for the Penn Relays from Thursday through Saturday, April 23-25, as well as the GVSU Extra Weekend Meet on April 25.
