ATHENS, Ga. -- The No. 11-ranked University of Michigan men's track and field team set a pair of top-10 program marks at the Spec Towns Invitational on Friday (April 10) at Spec Towns Track.
Jake Machiniak ran a personal-best 20.76 in the 200-meter dash to finish fifth and post the No. 3 time on the program's performers list. Will Barhite finished 19th (21.51), while Malachi Mosley placed 26th with a personal-best time of 21.64.
In the long jump, Quincy Isaac finished third with a personal-best mark of 7.68 meters (25-2.5) for the No. 8 mark on the program's performers list. Jake Wall finished fifth with a mark of 7.54 meters (24-9), coming 0.03 meters shy of his personal best.
Cole Sheldon cleared a personal-best 5.08 meters (16-8) in the pole vault to finish seventh, while Josh Huisman recorded a personal-best throw of 55.82 meters (183-2) to finish 14th.
A pair of Wolverines finished in the top 10 of the 400-meter hurdles, with Cole Romig placing fifth (52.18) and Caleb Root finishing sixth. Root's time of 52.92 marked a personal best.
Tyler Baker posted a personal-best time of 15.19 in the 110-meter hurdles and came just 0.56 meters from his personal best in the discus throw with a mark of 36.61 meters (120-1), sitting seventh in the decathlon before withdrawing from the event.
The Maize and Blue will close out the weekend with day three of the Spec Towns Invitational on Saturday (April 11), beginning with the 110-meter hurdles preliminary round at 1 p.m.
