Four Wolverines finished in double figures, led by Cadeau. Moustapha Thiam added 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Trey McKenney finished with 18 and Quinn Costello chipped in 10 off the bench. Michigan shot 50.7 percent (34-for-67) from the field and dished out 18 assists in the win.
The Wolverines got off to a back-and-forth start, with Oregon State taking an early 12-7 lead before Michigan found its offensive rhythm. Back-to-back three-pointers from Costello and Thiam gave U-M a 22-17 lead midway through the opening half.
Michigan continued to build on that momentum, extending its advantage to 39-26 following a Kenny Noland layup with 4:06 remaining. However, the Beavers closed the half on a 16-6 run to cut Michigan's lead to 45-42 heading into the break.
Oregon State picked up where it left off, taking a 53-50 lead less than four minutes into the second half. After scoring just one point in the opening half, Cadeau scored seven of Michigan's first nine points of the second period to help regain the advantage. Neither team could pull away, with the Beavers holding a 76-74 advantage with just over seven minutes remaining.
Michigan responded with a 9-1 run, sparked by a Cadeau-to-Thiam alley-oop dunk with seven minutes to play. Cadeau followed with a three-pointer to put U-M ahead 79-76 before another Thiam dunk and a McKenney layup pushed the lead to 83-77 with 5:27 remaining.
The Beavers cut the deficit to just one point, 89-88, following a three-point play with 1:46 left. Cadeau answered with a layup on Michigan's next possession and helped seal the win at the free-throw line, making four in the final 70 seconds. Costello added two more free throws with 19 seconds remaining as the Wolverines closed out the five-point victory.
Michigan's ability to capitalize on Oregon State's mistakes proved a difference-maker, as the Wolverines finished with 31 points off turnovers compared to just nine for the Beavers. U-M also outscored Oregon State 48-32 in the paint while overcoming a 37-29 rebounding deficit and 25.8 percent shooting (8-for-31) from three-point range.
